Selby (JHB) branch
Christiaan Scholtz
Christiaan, former Springbok and 1995 Rugby World Cup member, also previous owner of the landmark Antique shop "Die Ossewa" in Melville Johannesburg from 1994 - 2015, now dedicates himself full-time to Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers.
Christiaan brings a wealth of experience to the Art, Antiques and Collectables world. Over the last 30 years he has built up extensive knowledge, trading in various countries, building a large database of clients, dealers, interior designers and collectors in South Africa as well as the rest of the world. His first love is Africana and Antique Furniture but he has developed an eye for Retro and Design Furniture as well.
Le Roux Hennop
Le Roux has a bachelors degree in fine arts, majoring in painting, this fine eye for detail was put to work in two interesting fields, facial recognition for the SAPS and his love for tattoos!

You can find Le Roux in the warehouse cataloguing various lots of classic, vintage and retro items, including toys and vehicles.
Ayesha Kathrada
Ayesha was with Associated Art & Antiques in Houghton and Parkhurst from 1996 to 2014. She traded in Art, Silver, Jewellery, Glass, Crystal & General Antiques but her first love is Silver and Jewellery!

Ayesha is well-known and respected in the industry for her integrity and attention to detail.
Lesego Modise
Lesego has 7 years auction house experience with Stephan Welz in logistics, administration and accounting he will ensure a smooth and safe process for items coming and going.

You will find Lesego in the warehouse handling anything to do with accounts, payments and seller relations
Nickey Hennop
Nickey comes out of Nelson Mandela Municipality University with her Bachelor of Technology and National Diploma in Fine Art she is well suited for her roll her as art cataloger and junior Art Specialist.

You can find Nickey here at the warehouse cataloguing artworks and assisting with art intakes and valuations.
Chris van der Westhuizen
Chris has extensive experience in and outside of South Africa in logistics, interior and exterior decorating as well as Customer Relations, and has had a live-long interest in all things beautiful and precious.
You will see him in action in the auction rooms setting up and staging the many hundreds of items up for auction every month
Ryno Smit
Ryno brings not only youth and energy to the auctions and daily operations, but he has also become our very own in-house photographer extra-ordinaire!

Many of the stunning auction imagery you will see online originated in front of his lens and with his keen eye for detail this has earned him many compliments from customers and suppliers.
Christian Leon
Christian is a 25 year old photographer and has been working at Old Johannesburg Warehouse since 2022. He is a very energetic and vibrant person who loves photography and learning new things.
He enjoys learning the history and experiencing the craftsmanship of the anitiques and collectables he photographs.
JJ Snyders
JJ is our logistics, courier and packaging expert at our Selby branch.
His work ethic and drive makes him an excellent person to handle all things to do with packaging and making sure the couriers knows what’s what!
Martjie van der Walt
Martjie started her career as a teacher. In 2001 she attended the school of photography which opened the world to darkroom photography. She spent many hours developing her own negatives and photos.
She has successfully worked across various genres and still do, - from weddings to interior, food photography, studio work, commercial buildings and housing.
In 2021 she started to work at Old Johannesburg Warehouse as a freelance photographer, specialising in jewellery photography.
Peta Fuhr
Peta has 48 years experience in the position of Specialist Front Desk Supervisor. The front desk is the hub of all client relations. Customer satisfaction and client relations falls under Peta’s responsibilities at our Selby branch
Victor Ramalatso and our other 7 staff members have been with us for many years and are all experienced in their individual fields and tasks around the Auction Room and Warehouse.

Shona Robie
Shona completed a Fine Art degree from the University of Cape Town in 1997 majoring in sculpture and began her career in the industry in 2002 She has a passion for Decorative Arts and Ceramics, with over 20 years experience in the industry her knowledge and expertise is utilized in the lotting and cataloging of items.
Shona is also in charge of our branch in the stunning Winelands, handling everything from cataloguing to the operations of this branch with grace and passion
Adriaan v.d. Walt
Adriaan comes from a fine arts, graphic design and photography background. He taught photography at the Creativity Centre of the North-West University, Potchefstroom campus where he also served as curator of university's art gallery and managing the institution's extensive and valuable
permanent colletion.
He later on went into the diamond industry where he worked for almost 10 years. During this time he completed a certificate course at the De Beers Group Institute of Diamonds and had a diamond sales office in Franshhoek. His experience and love for all things aesthetic and shiny makes him a
perfect fit as part of the Old Johannesburg Warehouse Auctioneers team.
Karlien van Heerden
Karlien studied Psychology at UNISA and is now our admin and logistics whizz at our Winelands branch. She handles everything from client relations to invoices and administrative operations.
If you would like to consign items to the Winelands branch, need more information about the auctions, have trouble registering or need anything else, she is the one to talk to, whether you are a buyer, seller or just browsing around
Johan Joubert
Johan completed a Fine Art degree from the Vaal University of Technology in 1997 majoring in painting, sculpture, drawing and History of Art. Johan travelled to Mainland China sourcing the finest quality Chinese antiques from renowned dealers honing his skills and establishing him as one of the leading authorities on the subject within the South African market.
During 2011 Johan established Johan Joubert Asian Art and became a member of the South African Antique, Art and Design Association (SAADA) as well as The International Confederation of Dealers in works of Art (CINOA).
Joining the dynamic Old Johannesburg Warehouse team in February 2024 as Asian Art specialist we look forward to bringing the finest quality Asian antiques and art to market.
Louis van Heerden
Louis is our talented photographer, videographer, graphic designer, technical and IT specialist and the behind-the-scenes force behind the company.
He does the photography at our Wellington branch, he handles all things technical regarding our website, advertisements and promotional content. He also assist in the running of our online auctions as well as the set-up of our showroom in Wellington
Lettie Verwey
Lettie is in charge of our incredible Treasure Hunt auctions at our branch in the Winelands. Her background in administration and logistics duties come in handy regarding her attention to detail, customer relations and putting together an auction.
She is a dynamic and bubbly addition to our Winelands branch and always happy to assist colleagues and clients alike

Marcelle Sneddon
Marcelle, who previously worked in the Restaurant and Hospitality industries as well as for renowned restorer Leighton-Morris Antiques and other antique specialists, is also a qualified Wine Specialist. Her passion for interior decorating and antiques & collectables has driven her into this vocation.

Marcelle is the driving force at our branch in Melville. She does cataloging, day to day operations and management of our beautiful branch in Melville.
Lethukuthula "Thuli" Modise
Thuli comes from administration in Import & Export transactions and has a background International trade.Recently added to the team at our Melville Branch,
Co-ordinating office activities and operations to secure efficiency and managing phone calls and correspondence in emails, phones and packages
Thuli Can be found at the Melville Branch dealing with all collections, invoices , taking payments and arranging bookings for consignments

Imre Lamprecht
Imre studied Fine Art & Psychology at the University of Pretoria, specializing in Artwork. She has more than 20 years experience in the Auctioneering world, previously heading up the Art Department at Stephan Welz and Co. and has acquired extensive knowledge on South African art.

Imre is the main driving force behind our Pretoria branch and in between cataloging art, and running the branch, she also handles the company's marketing, articles, press releases and newspapers advertorials.
​
Imre is also a skilled auctioneer - she first took to the podium in 2008 and has been banging her gavel ever since, much to the delight of many happy buyers!
Waldi Koedyk
Waldi and Willem, a warm, joyful, helpful husband and wife team, welcome clients to the offices in Pretoria. Waldi comes from an administration and finance background and
Willem, who served a life in the police/traffic departments with electrical and technical experience deems himself a 'jack-of-all-trades'! They manage the phone, client interfaces and intakes, staff and logistics at the Pretoria branch.
